The desire for weight loss is a common situation for many people. Some struggle with it all their lives. It is kinda like smoking cigarettes. Some people have some type of 'moment' that changes them forever. Then the changes happen quickly after that.
I am not a believer in surgery for this to happen. Many great non-surgical programs work. The 'thing' that works best is to make a lifestyle change and don't give up.
If this applies to someone you love, help them realize that they will most likely live longer and have a much higher quality of life while they are alive if they lose the weight. Also, make sure 'they know' you love them even if they stay heavy.
You don't have to have a gym membership to lose weight. However, it does take a little time, effort, and willpower. Just stick with it and keep it fun!
